0-In Releases Support for Linux Operating System

Linux versions of all products already shipped to customers

June 25, 2001 – Today 0-In Design Automation, Inc., the leader in white-box verification technology, announced that its new release of 0-In Check and 0-In Search includes support for the Red Hat Linux operating system on PC platforms. Linux support is also available in the initial release of CheckerWare Wizard, the company’s recently announced assertion guidance product. All 0-In products also support the Solaris operating system for Sun Microsystems workstations and the HP-UX operating system on Hewlett Packard platforms.

0-In Responds to Increasing Demand for Linux among Advanced EDA Users
“Interest in the Linux operating system is rising rapidly in our customer base,” noted 0-In CEO, Dr. L. Curtis Widdoes. “Several leading-edge EDA vendors now actively support Linux; 0-In is pleased to have joined that group. Several of our customers recently informed us that they would be using Linux as the primary operating system on their next projects, so we felt that it was important to do more than just announce support plans. Accordingly, we have already shipped to all of our customers a release that includes full Linux support for all products. Several of our customers, including two large processor and chipset design teams, are running 0-In tools on Linux today.”

Linux Products Demonstrated at Design Automation Conference
0-In’s white-box verification was recently demonstrated at the Design Automation Conference (DAC) in Las Vegas. “DAC attendees had the opportunity to see 0-In products running on Linux PCs as well as on the more traditional EDA platforms,” said Dr. Widdoes. “We were able to learn a great deal from the attendees about their plans for Linux in the design and verification of complex system-on-chip (SOC) designs.”
